Our Stories

Since my childhood, I have been deeply moved by the level of cruelty and suffering endured by innocent animals inflicted by man. And since my childhood, it was a dream to start Animal Activism when I grow up. It’s from here that I started the Vegan Village Society to accomplish my childhood dream of Advocating for the Rights of Animals and improving the standard of living in Vegan Communities. This is because animals are also creatures like any other human and they too deserve life. So, the vegan village society has been all along and is still sensitizing Ugandans to respect animal rights and this is being done through radio talk shows, newspapers, community outreach activities, forming school vegan clubs, etc. We believe that shading innocent blood whether from a human being or animal is not entertained even in the bible,” [Deuteronomy 19:10-that innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the Lord God giveth thee]” Secondly, the organization started to advocate for the good health of the people in Uganda by promoting vegetable consumption growth and consumption after my close friend lost a wife due to breast cancer that she contracted from eating meat for so long. According to the research made, eating meat regularly increases a person's risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, pneumonia, and other serious illnesses, and these are major diseases that are majorly killing Ugandans. The majority of Ugandans didn’t believe that they can contract some dangerous diseases through consuming animal products until the Vegan Village Society started the campaigns to end meat consumption in Uganda.
